Project
I am here is a community-based media research project that uses participatory photography and digital storytelling as tools to help immigrant and refugee youth define (and redefine) what it means to be an American. The project provided high school participants with digital cameras and media training to explore their identities and investigate issues within their communities. Youth involved in the project displayed their photos in a school exhibit and digital stories were shared with school administrators and at the Equity Summit convening of teachers, community members and scholars at the UC Davis campus.
